India and South Africa will travel to Colombo for the tri-series•BCCI
Sri Lanka will host India and South Africa for a women’s ODI tri-series in April and May, the SLC announced on Thursday. This tri-series was not part of the Future Tours Programme originally. Each team will play the others twice – making it four matches per team – before the top two teams play the final. The series will start with hosts Sri Lanka taking on India. All of them will be day games, played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo from April 27 to May 11.Sri Lanka are currently on a white-ball tour of New Zealand, while most of India’s players are participating in the WPL at home. Some South African players are also at the WPL. Until this tri-series was announced, South Africa’s next international assignment was a tour of the West Indies in June. This tri-series will give the three teams extra prep time in the lead up to the ODI World Cup in October this year in India.Sri Lanka are currently the Asia Cup champions, while South Africa had reached the semi-finals of the last ODI World Cup, in 2022, after knocking India out in the league stages. India are, however, the highest-ranked of the three at third – South Africa are fourth and Sri Lanka seventh – in the ICC ODI rankings.Sri Lanka women’s tri-series scheduleApril 27, Sri Lanka vs India April 29, India vs South Africa May 1, Sri Lanka vs South Africa May 4, Sri Lanka vs India May 6, South Africa vs India May 8, Sri Lanka vs South Africa May 11, final

A fase do playoff é inédita no campeonato continental neste ano.

Leeds United have made a surprise approach to sign a new striker who has won the Champions League.
Leeds want more attacking signings before the transfer deadline
The Whites fell to an embarrassing EFL Cup defeat to Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday evening, with the Championship side fielding a team mostly filled with youngsters.
Daniel Farke, meanwhile, started summer signings Sebastiaan Bornauw, Jaka Bijol, Sean Longstaff, Noah Okafor and Lukas Nmecha, however, Leeds were knocked out on penalties after a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes.
After completing 10 senior signings, more attacking additions are wanted at Elland Road before the deadline, with journalist Graeme Bailey saying Leeds want a winger and number 10.
"Tough to take" – Leeds and Farke now given new injury blow to "key" star
It’s not good news for the Whites.

With days remaining in the transfer window, it looks as if the 49ers Enterprises have turned to a new attacking target and have had a reply.
Leeds make surprise approach for Timo Werner
A versatile forward who appears to be on Leeds’ radar is former Chelsea and Tottenham striker Timo Werner.
According to reports in Germany, relayed by Sport Witness, Leeds made a surprise approach to sign Werner from RB Leipzig. As well as those in Yorkshire, fellow promoted side Burnley have also been in contact to bring the German back to England, however, Werner has snubbed both Leeds and Burnley.

Werner also hasn’t entertained the possibility of moving to Italy, Turkey and Saudi Arabia and is under contract with Leipzig until 2026.

Scoring 177 senior goals during his career, Werner can play anywhere across the front three but struggled in the 2024/25 Premier League season, failing to score in 18 appearances.
He was also criticised by former Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou after the forward’s Europa League display against Rangers.
“When you’ve got 18-year-olds [in the squad], it [that performance] is not acceptable to me. I said that to Timo, he’s a German international.
“In the moment we’re in right now – it’s not like we’ve got many options – I need everyone to at least be going out there and trying to give the best of themselves. His performance in the first half wasn’t acceptable.
“We need everybody, including him, to be contributing because we don’t have the depth to leave people out if they perform poorly. I expect a level of performance from some of the senior guys, and tonight wasn’t that.”
Werner is a Champions League winner, and at the age of 29, could have represented a solid signing, but it looks as if a transfer won’t be happening in the final days of the window.
Barring some late jeopardy, Liverpool look to have signed their top summer target, Alexander Isak, from Newcastle United, having agreed a record-breaking £130m deal with the Tynesiders.
The Sweden star, who scored 27 goals for the Magpies last season as they won the Carabao Cup, is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world, and adds so much potential to a Liverpool side already feared by all.
FSG have got the big one over the line, but they remain intent on signing another top Premier League talent at the other end of the field.
Liverpool looking to sign Premier League star
Crystal Palace are locked in a last-gasp bid to sign Brighton & Hove Albion centre-back Igor Julio, thus strengthening and opening the door for Marc Guehi to sign for Arne Slot’s champions.
However, Oliver Glasner has made it clear that he wants the Three Lions star to stay at Selhurst Park, especially after Guehi’s spectacular goal in a 3-0 romp over Aston Villa on Sunday evening.
And if the Austrian tactician gets his wish, Liverpool might need to shift their focus, perhaps moving for another summer target in Nathan Collins, having entered the race for the Irish centre-half at the start of August.
Nathan Collins in action for Brentford
Despite the late hour of the window, Liverpool could strike a shrewd deal in bringing the 24-year-old over, especially since he has proven himself dependable on the pitch and reliable on the fitness front.
What Collins would bring to Liverpool
Brentford signed Collins from Wolverhampton Wanderers for £23m in July 2023, and he has since proved his technical quality and ability to command from the rearguard, hailed by journalist Sam Tabuteau for being a “future leader”.
Nathan Collins in action for Ireland.
Collins might not be the flashiest or most exciting name that Liverpool have been linked with this summer, but there’s little question that he has what it takes to star for Slot’s side, challenging Ibrahima Konate for a place alongside skipper Virgil van Dijk.
Indeed, he’s deceptively progressive on the ball, athletic and mobile too. But more importantly, Collins is crisp and commanding in the duel, also keeping his error count on the low.
In many ways, he is like Van Dijk himself, with that comparison having been made in the past by talent scout Jacek Kulig, who noted that he is a “complete & dominant” defender.

It perhaps helps that Collins shares some of Guehi’s ball-playing ability, ranking among the top 8% of positional peers across the past 365 days for goal-creating actions per 90.
Given that Liverpool have already signed a prodigious youngster in Giovanni Leoni this summer, this could be the ideal, shrewd signing to dynamise and complete backline, evening out the squad’s balance, so to speak.
Collins was also the only outfield player to have featured across every minute of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, further underscoring his capacity to stand strong against the current and succeed in the role touted for Guehi down Anfield Road.

Veteran allrounder brings valuable experience to Trent Bridge following the loss of Alex Hales

Henriques has previously represented Surrey in the Blast•Getty Images
Australian allrounder Moises Henriques has joined Notts Outlaws for the 2025 Vitality Blast.Henriques, who has made 10 appearances in the competition for Surrey across two stints, the most recent coming in 2017, has been capped 44 times for his country, with the majority (24) coming in T20Is.The 38-year old brings a wealth of experience, with 282 matches in the T20 format. As Sydney Sixers captain, he has led his side to two Big Bash League titles, and is the leading appearance maker in Australia’s domestic competition, as well as being the fourth highest runscorer in its history.A stalwart of the global franchise scene, Henriques has featured in nine editions of the Indian Premier League, and played a prominent role in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s triumph in 2016. He has also won the now-defunct T20 Champions League twice with New South Wales.”I can’t wait to get over to Nottingham this season to play in the Blast,” Henriques said. “Trent Bridge is an iconic cricket ground and I’m looking forward to playing in front of their amazing crowds.”On a personal note, I’ve made some great friends over the years with both past players and staff from Notts and their values as people I’m sure represent their time there, which I can’t wait to experience.”Notts have had a lot of success over the last decade and I’ll be looking to add to that. The current squad looks extremely talented and young and hopefully with my experiences of T20 cricket around the world I can add a bit of value to the group both on and off the field.”Henriques will fill Outlaws’ second overseas spot, joining fellow Australian Daniel Sams, and is a welcome boost following the news that veteran opener Alex Hales will skip the English season to take up franchise opportunities overseas during the summer.Nottinghamshire finished bottom of the North Group in 2024, and have not made the latter stages of the T20 Blast since winning it for the second time in 2020.”Moises’s experience and quality as a player will add a huge amount to our squad, while he’ll be another leader in the group,” said head coach Peter Moores. “His reputation as a captain precedes him. He’ll provide great support for Joe (Clarke) as he continues to grow into that role.”His ability to negotiate a run chase or set a score with the bat has been well proven over the years, providing experience and stability in a new look batting line up. Crucially he’s used to playing in a winning set up, which is exactly the mentality we’re looking to build as we move forward as a team.”

Mooney made 70 off 42, Sutherland made 23 not out and took 4 for 8, while King took 3 for 27 as Australia smashed New Zealand by 82 runs

Beth Mooney, Annabel Sutherland and Alana King starred in another dominant Australia performance to crush New Zealand by 82 runs in Mount Maunganui and close out their first women’s T20I series win in New Zealand with one game remaining.Mooney scored 70 off 42, her fourth 70-plus score in her last five T20Is, to earn Player-of-the-Match honours again and underpin Australia’s mammoth total of 204 for 3, where all five of Australia’s batters on show reached 23 or more. Only Phoebe Litchfield struck at under 153. Georgia Voll’s blistering 36 off 20 set the tone for Mooney to follow before Litchfield, Ellyse Perry and Sutherland all produced valuable cameos.Sutherland then ripped through New Zealand’s top order, taking three wickets in her first seven deliveries after King had knocked over Suzie Bates, to extinguish any hopes of a record chase as they folded for just 122. Sutherland finished with extraordinary career-best T20I figures of 4 for 8 from 2.1 overs. King, who was oddly left out of Australia’s XI in the first game of the series despite starring in the Ashes, took 3 for 27 having come in for the injured Ash Gardner.Amelia Kerr took 1 for 27 from four overs and made 40 off 36, but no other New Zealand player conceded fewer than eight runs per over with the ball or scored more than 22 with the bat.Alana King made the big breakthrough early on when she sent back Suzie Bates•Getty Images
Mooney and Voll once again took the wind out of New Zealand’s sails, this time blasting a 57-run opening stand in 5.1 overs after Australia won the toss and chose to bat on a pristine surface.Picking up from where the two had left off following their 123-run stand in Auckland, Voll was vicious in her assault on the new ball. She smashed seven boundaries in the first five overs and could have done more damage had she not picked out fielders in the ring with several powerful strikes. She clubbed Eden Carson for three fours in the second over on the innings and then produced back-to-back boundaries off Rosemary Mair in the fourth to reach 33 from 17 before Mooney had got to double-figures.She fell in unusual fashion, bounced out by Sophie Devine with keeper Polly Inglis up to the stumps. Both Voll and Inglis thought she had missed a pull shot. But Devine thought she heard something, and a review showed a spike on real-time snicko as ball passed bat.Mooney enjoyed a slice of luck when Devine misjudged an aerial square drive on the deep point rope. She came in too far and it sailed over her head but landed inside the rope. The left-hand batter then continued her form, accumulating with ease. She shared a 69-run stand with Litchfield, who made a scratchy 32 from 29. When she holed to long-on, Australia upped the tempo with Perry pumping her first delivery over cover for four.Beth Mooney posted another half-century•Getty Images
It sparked an electric finish to the innings. Mooney holed out to Amelia Kerr, who very nearly pinned Sutherland lbw first ball with a superb wrong’un. Sutherland needed a review to overturn a decision with ball tracking showing it was just going over middle. Sutherland and Perry proceeded to take 40 from the last 18 balls of the innings. Sutherland smashed an enormous six in her 23 not out from 15. Perry showed her class off the last two balls of the innings, lofting inside out over cover and then reverse lapping fine of third to finish unbeaten on 29 from 15.New Zealand’s pursuit of the record chase never got going. King bowled Bates in the second over before Sutherland removed Georgia Plimmer and Devine in consecutive balls in the fifth. When Brooke Halliday miscued to mid-on off Sutherland’s first ball of the seventh over, New Zealand were 45 for 4 and Sutherland had 3 for 3.Amelia Kerr fought hard alongside Maddy Green but the game was well and truly gone. Georgia Wareham trapped Green lbw for 22 before King and Darcie Brown tore through the tail. King removed both Kerr sisters within three balls before Brown picked up two in four balls in the next over.Sutherland flattened Carson’s off stump to seal the win with New Zealand losing 5 for 13 to be bowled out for 122.
