What’s the word?

According to Dan Kilpatrick at the Evening Standard, Spurs’ transfer plans are being held up by a struggle to offload unwanted right-back Serge Aurier.

It’s thought that funds made through his sale would allow Mourinho to bolster his attacking department with a new forward but neither AC Milan or Bayer Leverkusen are willing to splash the cash on the Ivorian.

He goes on to claim that their attention has now turned to AFC Bournemouth striker Joshua King after being offered the relegated star.

Manchester United failed with a £20m bid for the 28-year-old during the January transfer window.

Versatile foil

A move for King makes a ton of sense for a multitude of reasons.

The Norway international reached double figures for goal involvements once again, even despite the Cherries being relegated to the Championship and prior to this campaign, he bagged at least eight goals in each of the previous three seasons – a best of 16 in 2016/17.

Having come through the system at United, King qualifies as a homegrown talent, which is another benefit to Mourinho.

It’s also no surprise to see the Portuguese boss being a big fan after the 28-year-old gave his Red Devils the runaround in 2017 – not only did King net from the spot, but he also recorded three dribbles, won nine duels and made 7 clearances all whilst playing as a number ten, via SofaScore.

That versatility could prove crucial throughout the season with Spurs having to qualify for the Europa League early doors. He can play out wide or through the middle, so not only will he be a backup to Harry Kane but also a potential partner and extra cover for the likes of Heung-min Son and Steven Bergwijn.

Eddie Howe believes King is “unique” and has also hailed him as a “complete package” in the past due to him being “outstanding physically, technically and mentally.”

Daniel Levy should do everything in his power to secure Spurs the prolific goalscorer this summer.

أعلن أمير توفيق مدير التعاقدات بالنادي الأهلي، تمديد عقد لاعب الفريق صلاح محسن، اليوم الثلاثاء.

ووفقاً للموقع الرسمي للأهلي، قال توفيق: “تم تمديد عقد صلاح محسن مهاجم الفريق الأول لكرة القدم لمدة أربع سنوات، بالإضافة إلى الموسم الذي سوف ينطلق بعد أسابيع، لتصبح مدة تعاقده 5 سنوات كاملة أي حتى عام 2026”.

تحدث أسامة فيصل مهاجم الزمالك، عن كواليس انتقاله لـ فريق البنك الأهلي معارًا، خلال فترة الانتقالات الصيفية الماضية.

وكان الزمالك قد أعلن عن إعارة أسامة فيصل إلى صفوف البنك الأهلي لمدة موسم.

وقال فيصل خلال تصريحات لبرنامج “كورة كل يوم” على قناة “الحياة”: “أول شخص تحدث معي هو أمير عبد العزيز مدرب فريق البنك الأهلي، وخالد جلال المدير الفني أخطرني بأنه يريدني في الموسم المقبل مع الفريق، وكل شىء انتهى سريعًا”.

وتابع: “أشعر أنني متواجد في الزمالك لا يوجد تغيير، الكل يتعامل باحترام واحترافية شديدة”.

وعن مرحلة صعوده للفريق الأول بالزمالك، أوضح: “كنت متواجد في بطولة بالسعودية مع منتخب مصر تحت قيادة ربيع ياسين، كارتيرون كان يتابعني، وبعد عودتي كان هناك معسكر في الإسكندرية والنادي أبلغني أنني سأنضم لهذا المعسكر، وهذه كانت البداية”.

وعن الهدف في مرمى الأهلي، قال: “المترجم أول من أبلغني بتواجدي في قائمة مباراة القمة، وكنت أجلس على دكة البدلاء بجانب المدافع حسام عبد المجيد، وقال لي ستشارك وستسجل هدفًا في مرمى الأهلي”.

وتابع: “كارتيرون دائمًا يتحدث معي ويقول لي أنت لاعب صغير وجيد ومستقبل النادي، وعند مشاركتي أمام الأهلي طلب مني أن ألعب بهدوء وبدون خوف”.

وأكمل: “لم أشعر بنفسي بعد تسجيلي في مرمى الأهلي، أول هدف رسمي مع الزمالك أسجله في الأهلي وفرحتي كانت من القلب”.

Newcastle United are reportedly among several clubs showing an interest in signing teenage French talent Georginio Rutter.

The print edition of The Sunday Mirror (page 73) reported [via Sportslens] that the Magpies are in the hunt to sign the 18-year-old ‘sensation’, who is also wanted by Arsenal, RB Leipzig, AC Milan and Lyon. He currently plays for Ligue 1 side Rennes, who value him at £10m.

According to Sportslens, Rutter’s pace, power and technical ability have caught the eye of scouts from Arsenal, with the teenager already a bulky presence at 1.82m (6ft). The 18-year-old has yet to make his first team debut for Rennes but he has featured at UEFA Youth League level, scoring once in four appearances in the competition last season (as per TransferMarkt).

L’Equipe (via Get French Football News) that Newcastle have already lodged an enquiry with the Ligue 1 club regarding their interest in the teenage striker, who has represented France at several underage grades.

Given his tender age and his lack of senior experience, Rutter would almost certainly be signed with the long-term picture in mind by whoever signs him, if he is to complete a transfer in the current window.

Newcastle manager Steve Bruce already has four senior centre-forwards at the club in Andy Carroll, Joelinton, Dwight Gayle (currently out with a lengthy knee injury) and summer signing Callum Wilson, who scored on his debut for the club against West Ham.

£10m indeed seems a hefty fee to pay for someone who has yet to even play a first team game, although from Newcastle’s perspective, it could be a gamble worth taking in terms of its long-term consequences.

The scale of the transfer interest in Rutter hints at the huge potential that he boasts, while it’s worth remembering that Carroll won’t be around forever. The Geordie native will be 32 in January and has already had an injury-plagued career, while his failure to score in 23 appearances since returning to the club last year suggests that he has lost sharpness up front.

In time, Rutter could become the eventual successor to Carroll as a powerful centre-forward presence – assuming, of course, that the Magpies can beat off the substantial competition for the Rennes youngster’s signature.

وصعد محمد صلاح إلى منصة الحفل، وكان في الخلفية أصوات إيحائية للمحيطات وتحت قدميه مياه، تجسيدًا للفقرة التي يقدمها.

وقال محمد صلاح بعد التصفيق الحار له من الحضور: “مساء الخير، أنا سعيد لتواجدي هنا في ذلك الحفل المذهل والرائع، أنا متحمس لذلك لأنني نشأت بجوار المياه، مياه البحر المتوسط”.

وتابع: “المياه عنصر حيوي بالنسبة لنا، وللكوكب بأكمله، البحار والمحيطات، قد يكون هناك بلاستيك أكثر من الأسماك في المحيط ما لم نفعل شيئًا تجاه هذا الآن”.

Liverpool have cashed in on young talent Rhian Brewster after Sheffield United came knocking with a £23.5million offer, but they may already have his replacement.

The Reds snapped up young German talent Melkamu Frauendorf back in August and it was a move that slipped in through the back door. However, after his former coach has waxed lyrical about his abilities, he may be given the opportunity to step up to the plate at the Merseyside outfit.

The 16-year-old made his move to England after progressing through Hoffenheim’s academy, where he has left a lasting impression on the staff there.

Frauendorf’s potential at Liverpool

“Mel is a very flexible player,” Hoffenheim youth coach Danny Galm told the Liverpool ECHO. “He is straightforward with a good technique and very, very good endurance. He didn’t score the most goals, but he was involved in almost all offensive actions.

“For me, he was a very important player, who often initiated decisive moments with his dynamic and straight dribbling. I’m not a fan of comparing players to others but Mel is a special player. He is fast and has good endurance, and he wants to learn, but remains creative.”

From Galm’s comments on the teenager, he sounds like an ideal fit for Jurgen Klopp’s high-intensity style of play. His pace will suit Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah like a glove.

Is Frauendorf Brewster’s replacement?

Given the timings of the incoming and outgoing deals, Liverpool may have known Brewster would be leaving this window ahead of his final move. The Reds have welcomed a number of rising youth stars to the club over the summer and may have planned this move a little more carefully.

With Brewster having never played a Premier League game for Liverpool, it puts him around the same level as Frauendorf, who has already scored one goal in his two appearances for the U18s (via Transfermarkt).

Boasting the ability to play across any position in attack plus being able to slot into attacking midfield, Frauendorf could provide excellent cover for a number of first team roles. If his progress is fast, fans could see him integrated into the first team at the rate fellow youngster Harvey Elliott is.

Bournemouth have responded to Sheffield United’s interest in midfielder David Brooks, according to Football Insider.

The 23-year-old suffered relegation from the Premier League last season, contributing with nine appearances in which he scored just one goal in an injury-ravaged campaign.

Valued at £18m, the lively Welshman had a good season in 2018/19, with seven goals and five assists in 30 top-flight appearances, and it is that form which has the likes of Sheffield United showing interest.

Blades manager Chris Wilder has worked hard during the transfer window to bring in the likes of Rhian Brewster and Oliver Burke, spending £56.4m thus far.

Brooks staying at Bournemouth

Football Insider reported of Sheffield United’s interest, claiming a source from the Vitality Stadium has told them that the club plan to fend off any interest before next Friday’s transfer deadline.

Bournemouth are said to be relying heavily on Brooks to fire them back to the Premier League, with the Welsh winger joining the Cherries in July 2018. Former manager Eddie Howe has hailed the player’s “mature, creative performances on the pitch” as well as his “good attitude and professional lifestyle off it”.

Whilst the report seems to dismiss the chances of Brooks leaving the Vitality Stadium, it also touches base on interest being shown in striker Joshua King, claiming the Cherries want to cash in on the 28-year-old.

Can Brooks help Bournemouth?

Bournemouth ought not to be overly reliant on Brooks this season as they seek an instant return to the Premier League, especially given that he missed a large part of last term through ankle surgery.

Ideally, the Welshman would have been better suited in the Premier League, but he is now set to take on the hustle and bustle of the Championship and hopefully rediscover the form that tempted Wilder’s Sheffield United to show an interest in the first place.

It will be interesting to see if the Blades can bring the 23-year-old back to Bramall Lane before next Friday’s deadline.
