شاركت غينيا بيساو لأول مرة في تصفيات كأس الأمم الإفريقية عام 1994 حيث تغلبت على الرأس الأخضر بثلاث جولات، لكنها فشلت في تسجيل نقطة واحدة في الجولة الثانية حيث ألغي تعادلها مع توجو بعد انسحاب الأخير من البطولة.

وفي عام 1996، انسحب دجورتوس من التصفيات بعد تعادل وخسارتين، مما أدى إلى إيقافها في كأس الأمم الإفريقية 1998.

دخل منتخب الثعالب بعد ذلك التصفيات في عام 2006 حيث خسرت 4-1 أمام منتخب مالي وتم إيقافها مرة أخرى في عام 2008 بسبب ديون غير مدفوعة للاتحاد الإفريقي لكرة القدم “كاف”.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp is continuing to impress on loan with Norwich City in the Championship this season and, if he returns to challenge in Jose Mourinho’s side next season, it could spell trouble for Harry Winks.

The 20-year-old was sent out on loan to the Canaries for the season and has been a key part of Daniel Farke’s side’s impressive campaign thus far, as they currently sit top of the second tier and are eyeing an immediate promotion back to the top flight.

So far this season, the Spurs academy graduate has made 34 appearances in the Championship, scoring one goal and averaging an impressive 6.88 WhoScored average match rating for the table-toppers.

It was even suggested during the January transfer window that Jose Mourinho had considered recalling the youngster to his squad, so he definitely has an eye on him ahead of next season.

The Portuguese manager also suggested last summer that Skipp is a future captain at Spurs, so he certainly looks destined for a big future with the north London club.

Therefore, when he returns in the summer, with Farke recently admitting that it is impossible for the Canaries to sign him permanently, it seems likely that he will be challenging for a spot in Mourinho’s first team.

The German manager also spoke highly of the impact Skipp has had at Norwich, saying:

“We saw the potential, we looked into his character a lot and we knew he would be fully convinced to give everything, not thinking I don’t need to work to prove I am the best in my position.

“Oliver is a perfect lad. So humble. He is a brilliant loan signing.”

One casualty of Skipp’s return to Spurs could be fellow academy graduate Winks, as the 25-year-old has struggled to establish himself as a regular under Mourinho.

So far this season, Winks – who reportedly earns £50,000 per week at Spurs – has made just six starts in the Premier League and has averaged a disappointing 6.34 WhoScored rating for his performances in the top flight – the worst of any Spurs player who has started at least five games.

Therefore, considering he is already on the fringes of the Spurs squad, the return of a genuine wonderkid in Skipp could be the final nail in the coffin for Winks and bring an end to his time with the club next season.

Amid the financial difficulties at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, coming as their state of the art £1.2 billion ground has sat largely unused over the last 12 months due to coronavirus, Gold has shed light on Spurs’ upcoming summer transfer window and the implications surrounding it.

Tottenham could be set for ‘huge’ transfer decision

In an article, the journalist has explained what he understands regarding any business Tottenham will do at the end of the season, explaining that any new signings will need to be funded by potential outgoings.

Harry Kane, who has been a star man for Tottenham this season, is at the centre of this dilemma – with Gold shedding light on the ‘huge’ transfer decision Levy and Mourinho have to make.

He says that what comes in the next few months is ‘likely to define’ whether the 27-year-old will ‘bankroll’ a summer spending spree, coming as clubs with financial power may look on Kane with ‘envious eyes’.

Due to the financial dilemma in north London, Tottenham face a big transfer call over the star striker and whether or not his exit would leave too big a hole – with Mourinho potentially wishing to reinforce his team for the 2021/2022 campaign.

Time will tell whether Kane makes way to assist Levy and Mourinho’s transfer budget for the summer, but Gold claims it will be a massive decision for Tottenham as the window looms.

Any new acquisitions will need to be funded off the back of exit deals, with Tottenham having to decide whether they stick or twist with Kane.

This will be determined over the next few months and how the Lilywhites finish 2020/2021 and it will certainly be an interesting development to watch over.

Recent reports have linked Manchester City with Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz and if he were to join the Citizens, he could potentially be the club’s next David Silva.

According to reports from Italy (via Sport Witness), the Citizens have ‘never stopped following’ the Spanish midfielder and the summer could be the ideal time to make a move for him.

The report suggests that whilst the 24-year-old hasn’t enjoyed the best season will Napoli, Pep Guardiola has not forgotten about him, and the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid are also well aware of the potential he showed during his time with Real Betis.

City have been linked with the Spanish international in the past and after a difficult season under Gennaro Gattuso, perhaps the upcoming summer transfer window will see him move on from the Serie A side.

Ruiz joined Napoli from Betis in 2018 and has gone on to make 115 appearances for Gli Azzurri, in which he has contributed 13 goals and 10 assists.

Last season saw the midfielder average an impressive 7.03 rating for his performances in Serie A, as he managed three goals and six assists in 33 appearances but his performances this season have been far less impressive.

In 20 league appearances, he has managed just one goal and one assist, resulting in a 6.80 rating, although Napoli have struggled as a whole, as they currently sit sixth in the Serie A table.

Despite his indifferent club form, Ruiz continues to impress for his country, which suggests that he could drastically improve his form if he were to join a side better than Napoli.

WhoScored suggests that the 24-year-old’s main strengths are his passing and his through balls, which certainly suggests that he could fit in well in this City side, and potentially be a replacement for David Silva, who departed to join Real Sociedad last summer after a decade with the Citizens.

The 35-year-old’s strengths are described as his passing, through balls and key passes, which suggests that the two share a lot of similarities, and with them both being Spanish, you would imagine that they have been instructed to play in a certain way when playing for the national side.

The Napoli man earned a lot of praise from Hoffenheim star Diadie Samassekou last year, as he said:

“It was incredibly difficult to defend against him because he is extremely agile and only ever needs two touches.”

Therefore, Ruiz could end up being the ideal man to replace Silva should he join City this summer, so Guardiola should encourage the club to bring in the £43.2 million-rated midfielder.
