Last year’s event at Somerset Cricket Club, was the first time Cup Match was broadcast live for free both days.Nicole Conrad, of Fresh Creations, said the company aimed to take Cup Match coverage into a new era with a slick professional production, featuring fan interviews, player bios and live broadcast of every ball.Fresh’s coverage will be broadcast on cable channel 3 and streamed live on the Internet. The Bank of Bermuda is helping fund the coverage as part of its sponsorship package for the event on July 30, 31 at St. George’s Cricket Club.”We’ll have pre-game and post game commentary, player profiles and interviews. Navdeep Poonia has been left out of the Scotland squad which takes on Australia on August 28

The team will be led by Gavin Hamilton, who is one of four players – Fraser Watts, Ryan Watson and Majid Haq being the other three – to have played the previous ODI between the two sides, in the ICC World Cup in 2007. Scotland have played seven ODIs this year, winning just one and losing five.Commenting on the squad, head coach Peter Steindl said: “The players selected are all looking forward to the game immensely; it does not get any bigger than playing the world champions in front of a large home crowd. West Ham legend, Mark Noble, is in the final stages of his career, announcing his retirement from the East London club after 17 years.

The 34-year-old has reached legendary status at his boyhood club, West Ham, with a career spanning 500 appearances, scoring 6o goals and bagging 61 assists for the Hammers in his time.

It has not been confirmed as to what the midfielder intends to do after he finishes his final season with West Ham in May 2022, but David Moyes has shared his thoughts on Noble’s next steps;

“I think Mark has other ideas, maybe a role as a sporting director or a technical director rather than on the footballing side.

“We’re already starting to use Mark in other roles behind the scenes.”

The footballer has become a fan favourite over the years, with his debut for West Ham in 2004, that has seen him a starter for almost two decades, with Noble now taking a more backseat role as a substitute as he sees out the last games of his career.

West Ham have recently had new financial backing from Daniel Kretinsky, who, after securing a 27% stake in the club, is hopeful to take over the entire club in the future and take full ownership.

The Evening Standard reported on the deal and the expectations of Kretinsky’s involvement; “His initial investment will help West Ham pay their debt which stands at £150m and David Moyes is unlikely to spend big in January as the Hammers chase Champions League qualification, though the Scot will be backed to bring in a central defender and a back-up striker to cover for Michail Antonio.”

Noble will surely be interested in continuing to play a part in the new journey West Ham are on, especially after they qualified for Europe in 6th place last season and are now challenging for a top-four spot and a potential title challenge, with the Hammers just four points off the top of the table right now.

Until then, Moyes has suggested that Noble is set to play a big part in the current season at West Ham, as they rotate more players especially around the Christmas period where fixtures will be congested for the club.

The Scottish manager said; “He’s going to have a massive part to play in the period leading up to Christmas particularly, where we will need lots of players for a lot of extra games,”

“I hope that Mark will be in good condition, fit and ready to play, because he can bring experience when he comes on in games. I feel that he can help us set the tempo in certain games.”

Once he’s played his part for the rest of the campaign, it would not be a great surprise if we saw him on the other side of the curtain next term, helping the likes of Kretinsky and GSB to form a better future for West Ham.

Rob Newman will also be involved as head of recruitment but in Noble, a man dubbed “unbelievable” by Declan Rice, they could find a director worthy of finally replacing Mario Husillos in a director’s role.

It’s safe to say that the club’s current captain would have their best interests at heart, and in knowing the Irons inside out, could provide Moyes and co with some valuable information from behind the scenes.

The thought of him hanging up his boots is a sad one, but providing he can still play his part in West Ham’s success from elsewhere, supporters will surely be happy.

O MP alega ainda que, com a atitude, o Vasco desrespeita o Estatuto do Torcedor no que se refere à violência e dificulta o trabalho da Polícia Militar em dias de jogos.

The Verdict: Great option?

A Champions League-winning centre-back and proven in the Premier League, signing the 28-year-old as a free agent for next summer could come as a no-brainer.

While that doesn’t solve the lack of cover for Romero, the Blues centre-back would almost certainly strengthen Conte’s options over his first full season in charge next year.

Lauded as an ‘animal’ and ‘unbelievable’ by pundit Rio Ferdinand, as well as for reaching the level of Man City star Ruben Dias at a point last campaign (FIVE via The Metro), his quality is obvious.

Currently in the prime of his career, managing director Fabio Paratici could secure one of the bargains of 2022 with a swoop for the Germany international.

Pakistan captain Younis Khan is keen to launch a players’ association and is believed to have already contacted the Federation of International Cricketers Association (FICA) in that regard.Younis, who met FICA chief Tim May in London during the World Twenty20 in June seeking details about the formation of players’ association, said he had discussed the issue with current and former players in Pakistan and was also planning to meet PCB officials.”I want to work for the betterment of cricketers in Pakistan because there are several players who are in a lot of financial problems,” Khan said. “I don’t want any confrontation with the PCB and we are not making a group against the board.”Khan, who led Pakistan to victory in the World Twenty20 said he just wanted “to gather the players for their own rights.” He is expected to have another sitting with May during the Champions Trophy which begins from September 22 in South Africa.It is a significant development in Pakistan cricket given the almost constant cycle of players developing differences with one another, or with board officials. Player management is also a fledgling concept here and until recently, most players were not formally represented by any party.A players association may help resolve situations such as those faced by a number of Pakistan players earlier this year, when they could not take part in the second IPL season, and had to forego considerable earnings after the Pakistan government didn’t give them permission to play in India (even though the tournament was eventually staged in South Africa). وأعلن مرتضى منصور رئيس نادي الزمالك أمس في تصريحات لقناة “الزمالك” عن التواصل لاتفاق لتجديد عقد زيزو مع الفريق رسمياً.

وقال أمير مرتضي خلال تصريحات لقناة “الزمالك”: “زيزو جدد للزمالك لمدة 3 سنوات وبدون شرط جزائي، الذي كان تم وضعه في عقده الموسم الماضي”.

وأضاف: “والده أوضح في أكثر من مناسبة أن الشرط الجزائي تم وضعه بسبب عدم الاستقرار ووجود اللجان”.

وتابع: “أشكر زيزو علي رغبته في الاستمرار مع الزمالك، رغم العروض الكبيرة له، لارتباطه الكبير بالزمالك وجماهيره، كما أوجه الشكر لوالده الذي كان حريصا على استمرار زيزو مع الفارس الأبيض”.

The Lowdown: Le Douaron profiled

Le Douaron is 23 years of age and is primarily a centre-forward who can also play as a left or right midfielder.

The 6ft 2’ French forward has been with his current employers since July 2020 and has scored seven times in 46 appearances, three of which have come in his last three Ligue 1 appearances.

Celtic have ‘ticked’ Le Douaron’s name when it comes to attacking targets, with the forward valued at €2m (£1.7m).

The Verdict: Avoid?

Even though Le Douaron could cost less than Josip Juranovic’s £2.7m move in the summer, it could make sense for the Hoops to look elsewhere.

He hasn’t exactly been prolific in France, with Giorgos Giakoumakis 26 Eredivisie goals last season.

A player like Daizen Maeda, who Celtic are thought to be confident of signing, could be a smarter option in January as he is a player who Postecoglou will know from his time in Japan.

Maeda has netted 22 times in 2021, considerably more than Le Douaron, so perhaps Michael Nicholson should avoid moving for the Stade Brestois man.
