South Australia’s new leadership team of Michael Klinger and Callum Ferguson begin their summer this weekend knowing that the only way is up. The Redbacks finished on the bottom of the Sheffield Shield and Ford Ranger Cup tables last season and they have been the nation’s underachievers in recent decades, having won no titles since 1995-96.There was one glimmer of hope, when they made the final of the KFC Big Bash, and although they lost to Victoria it was enough to earn them a place at last month’s Champions League. Orlando Berrío rompeu o tendão patelar do joelho esquerdo em 22 de outubro de 2017, em partida contra o São Paulo pelo Campeonato Brasileiro. A cirurgia foi realizada no dia 24 do mesmo mês. A recuperação foi prevista em 8 meses.

Assim, o retorno do colombiano só deve acontecer a partir do fim de junho. O Flamengo não inscreveu Berrío na Copa Libertadores. A grave lesão ainda vai tirá-lo da Copa do Mundo-2018, que terá início no dia 14 de junho, na Rússia.

Contratado em 2017 após destacar-se pelo Atlético Nacional, da Colômbia, Orlando Berrío tem contrato com o Flamengo até 2 de fevereiro de 2019.

Steven Gerrard appears to be making a head start when it comes to summer signings, with midfield seemingly a key area he wants to bolster.

Geoffrey Kondogbia and Ibrahim Sangare have both been recently scouted, while Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips is also on their radar.

Kamara is the latest player Villa have now watched, with Gerrard, Johan Lange and Christian Purslow in attendance to look at the Marseille star in action against Nantes on Wednesday.

Laurens took to Twitter to react to the update involving Villa and Kamara. He labelled the 22-year-old as a ‘fantastic player’ and appeared to be excited for Villa, should they land his services on a free transfer.

“RMC reveal that Steven Gerrard was at Marseille – Nantes at the Stade Velodrome tonight to watch Boubacar Kamara. He is out of contract in the summer. What a signing he would be for Aston Villa. Fantastic player.”

The Verdict: Would’ve left impressed…

Kamara is valued at £22.5m by Transfermarkt and can also turn out as a centre-back, so a free transfer could be an extremely shrewd move by Villa.

Kamara’s display would have left Gerrard, Lange and Purslow impressed in the 3-2 win for Marseille. As per SofaScore, Kamara was the third-best player on the pitch with a match rating of 7.8/10. Turning out in a three-man midfield, the Frenchman completed a whopping 105 of his 112 attempted passes, won six of his nine duels and even won a penalty.

Villa may now look to step up their interest following his display, with the club able to make contact over a pre-contract agreement right now due to his contract situation in France.

The Bulls were dismissed for 75 and 96 in the Sheffield Shield last week and continued to have trouble with the bat, struggling to 9 for 167 in 45 overs.Only having the best Nos 10 and 11 in the game helped the Bulls get to the end of the innings, with Chris Hartley (27) and Ryan Harris (13) putting on an unbeaten 40 for the final wicket. The visitors had packed their batting line-up but were undone by Brendan Drew (4 for 38) and Gerard Denton (3 for 47).Tim Paine, who did so well for Australia in the off-season, set up Tasmania’s chase with a brisk 71 and George Bailey added 51. New Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will be ‘monitoring’ the situation of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie De Jong ahead of the summer transfer window.

What’s the story?

That’s according to transfer insider Pete O’Rourke, who said to GIVEMESPORT: “I’m sure Ten Hag will be monitoring his situation.

“They’ve enjoyed success together in the past, and De Jong would be a big upgrade in that Man United midfield, if they were able to sign him.”

The current Ajax boss coached De Jong before the midfielder’s move to the Catalan giants, and he could be keen to reunite with the 24-year-old at Old Trafford.

United need De Jong

Ten Hag is set to lead a major squad overhaul this summer, with the Dutchman having a serious rebuilding job ahead of him in Manchester.

The likes of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, Edinson Cavani and Jesse Lingard are all set to leave this summer upon the expiry of their contracts, whilst further outgoings is incredibly possible.

Therefore, adding new faces to the United squad is an absolute must for the 52-year-old, who will take charge of the Premier League giants from July.

With Pogba and Matic leaving, an entire restructuring of the midfield could be possible, with De Jong at the heart of it. As a result, Brazilian midfielder Fred could also be on his way out of Old Trafford.

The 29-year-old has been a regular this season under both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick, making 33 appearances across all competitions. In fact, he scored the first goal under Rangnick’s management against Crystal Palace.

However, the Brazilian’s contract is set to expire next summer, and the Red Devils may be keen to receive funds for the midfielder before he can leave as a free agent.

As for De Jong, the £63m-rated Dutchman has been an integral part of Barcelona’s setup this season, making 43 appearances across all competitions, with Xavi Hernandez’s team sitting third in La Liga. Moreover, at just 24, he already has 40 caps for the Dutch national team, and he had made 89 appearances for Ajax by the age of 22.

The Netherland international, who has been dubbed a “genius” by his manager, has averaged a 7.08 rating from Sofascore for his performances in La Liga this term, compared to Fred’s 7.03 in the Premier League. Therefore, the former would likely supplant the Brazilian in United’s line-up.

Having performed excellently under Ten Hag in Amsterdam, coming to Old Trafford could certainly be a decent prospect for De Jong. Indeed, his prospective signing could spell the end of Fred’s much-maligned Manchester United tenure.

Celtic’s title party has been put on hold after they failed to beat their rivals at Parkhead in the Premiership on Sunday.

The Hoops took the lead through Jota’s strike but failed to kick on as they missed a number of excellent chances to improve their advantage.

This allowed the opposition to get back into the game and eventually find an equaliser through Fashion Sakala in the second half.

One player who struggled throughout the match was central midfielder Reo Hatate as his poor run of form for the Hoops continued.

He let Postecoglou down in the last Old Firm outing at the start of April and also put in a disappointing display against Ross County last week as he lost 100% of his duels and failed to complete any of his attempted dribbles – as per SofaScore.

Hatate’s performance today did little to help his case to continue starting matches as he was nowhere near good enough against Rangers. Fan media outlet Celtic1967 dubbed him “sluggish” and that is exactly what he was on and off the ball.

Out of possession, he was a lightweight. Via SofaScore, he lost 100% of his duels as he came out second-best in all six of his battles. He did make two interceptions, three if you include him stopping an inflatable from disrupting the play, but was also dribbled past three times as the Light Blues midfielders got the better of him too often.

On the ball, the £14.5k-per-week gem only completed 13 passes in 61 minutes on the pitch. He did create one chance for his teammates, though, and was successful in one of his two crosses, although he did not manage a single shot or completed dribble before he was substituted.

Following this display, and his previous performances against Rangers and Ross County, Postecogou must brutally axe the Japan international from the starting line-up.

Celtic play Hearts at Parkhead on Saturday and Hatate must be dropped to the bench for that outing as he has not been good enough, consistently, in the last few weeks. The Hoops cannot afford to keep playing a player who is a liability in matches on a regular basis.

With just two games left in the season, the midfielder should be rested/axed from the start for the remainder of the campaign and have the bit between his teeth to improve over the summer and come back fit and firing for 2022/23.
