The PCB’s ongoing legal existential crisis took another twist on Thursday when it emerged that Najam Sethi and the five-member Interim Management Committee (IMC) remain effectively suspended, until at least after the weekend. That meant, after a bizarre couple of days, that there was no current board chairman or any kind of body running board affairs.The confusion over the status of Sethi and the board first appeared on October 28, when Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of the Islamabad High Court suspended Sethi at 9am for not complying with an earlier legal order issued by Justice Siddiqui to elect a permanent chairman for the PCB by October 18. However at 12.30pm on the same day, the board’s lawyers argued successfully to a different two-judge bench at the same court on the same case to maintain the status quo – that is, Sethi and the IMC – at least temporarily. The judges agreed in court to do so until November 4, this Monday. It was widely reported, that Sethi and the current administration were operational until Monday at least.But the written order of this judgement, released today, refers to no such conclusion, leaving those officials in the board who received it, baffled. Various PCB officials confirmed to ESPNcricinfo, as a result, that the chairman and the IMC stood suspended based on Justice Siddiqui’s morning order of October 28 and that the chairman had not handled office matters over the last couple of days.In his order Justice Siddiqui also said that a former Supreme Court judge, Justice Munir Shaikh, would be the chairman of a committee that was ordered to hold an election for a board chairman by the last week of November. He ordered that the day-to-day affairs of the board, in the meantime, be handled by the PCB secretary he imposed on the board in yet another earlier ruling, a high-ranking official from the Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC).Sethi was appointed interim chairman of the PCB in June 2013 – for a 90-day period – after the IHC suspended former PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf over questions about the legality of the elections conducted to appoint him. In July, the court set a deadline of October 18 for the PCB to hold fresh elections for the chairman.Sethi failed to hold those elections and instead, on October 15 just before the deadline, the prime minister of Pakistan – the new patron of the PCB according to the court – Nawaz Sharif, dissolved the governing board of the PCB, and formed a five-member IMC to administer cricket. Sethi along with former chairman Shahryar Khan, former players Zaheer Abbas and Haroon Rasheed and former team manager Naved Cheema were named to the committee.A final resolution of this long-running drama, one that has left the board in an administrative limbo, is now expected on Monday when the next appeal hearing is scheduled.

وأعرب الوزير عن فخره واعتزازه بالإنجازات الرياضية التي يحققها الرياضيون المصريون على المستوى الدولي، وأشاد بالجهود التي يبذلها اللاعب زياد السيسي والمستوى الفني الذي ظهر به خلال العامين السابقين بفضل منظومة السلاح المصري المتميزة والتي تعد أحد عناصر المنظومة الرياضية المصرية الناجحة.

وأكد الوزير على دعم الحكومة المصرية للرياضة والرياضيين، والتزامها بتوفير الدعم اللازم لتطوير الرياضة في مصر.

Cerca de 25 torcedores estiveram presentes no aeroporto. Foi possível ver um princípio de confusão, quando um torcedor tentou danificar o equipamento de gravação de uma emissora de televisão. Além disso, um dos presentes foi repelido do estabelecimento por um policial por estar com a meia de uma torcida organizada do Botafogo.

Na busca por um técnico para o início do Campeonato Brasileiro, o Botafogo terá mais 15 dias de trabalho até a estreia diante do São Paulo, dia 27, fora de casa.

Very little separated Tamil Nadu and Saurashtra over four days on a placid pitch in Chennai, but WV Raman, the coach of Tamil Nadu, believed that his team had no excuses for failing to restrict Saurashra to under 565, as the visitors comfortably overhauled that score and took three points by virtue of a first-innings lead.Raman was blunt in his assessment of his side’s performance in the field over the last two days, in which two dropped catches cost them. Jaydev Shah, who was dropped at second slip when on 8, went on to score 195 and added 353 for the fourth wicket with Cheteshwar Pujara. On the final day, Aarpit Vasavada was also let off on second slip when on 6 and used the second chance to full effect, making 70 and helping his side to the innings lead. The culprit on both occasions was M Vijay. In Tamil Nadu’s previous match against Uttar Pradesh, another let off, this time by Abhinav Mukund at point, gave Piyush Chawla a reprieve at 9. Chawla seized the opportunity and scored 153 to help his side to a big first-innings lead.”It’s not about disappointment. It’s about not latching onto the opportunities that come your way,” Raman said. “Any side that commits these kinds of elementary mistakes has to pay.”With Tamil Nadu needing a win to climb up the points table from No.6, a green top was prepared to give the seamers more assistance. Um dia após conquistar o tricampeonato paulista, o goleiro Cássio afirmou que o Corinthians tem totais condições de brigar pelo título do Campeonato Brasileiro na sequência da temporada. De acordo com o capitão do Alvinegro, há equipes que, atualmente, jogam melhor, mas o Timão segue competitivo.

– Acho que temos sim elenco para sermos campeões, lógico que temos que trabalhar, evoluir, temos que ser regulares. Na minha opinião, no Campeonato Brasileiro você ser regular na sua casa é muito importante, perder o menor número de pontos. Temos que entender que alguns jogos, principalmente fora de casa, não dá para ganhar, mas você não pode perder. Tem que trazer ponto, no final isso vai fazer diferença. Temos que achar regularidade pois elenco temos para brigar pelo título – pontuou o goleiro.

De acordo com Cássio, o Corinthians possui um elenco maior e melhor do que aquele que disputou o Brasileirão no ano passado. Além da força do time em sua casa, a presença de jogadores mais experientes pode ajudar o clube nas 38 rodadas da competição nacional. Apesar disto, o goleiro afirmou que há equipes em um estágio mais avançado neste momento da temporada.

Sensação no dia seguinte ao título
Muito feliz por esse título, chegar ao nono título. Persistência de acreditar no título e que era possível, independente de ter perdido alguns jogos ou não ter feito boas partidas. Persistência, pois desde o primeiro jogo a gente (sabia que) poderia ser campeão, o time acreditou sempre.

Você foi o craque do Paulistão?
Vocês que tem que decidir, eu tentei fazer o meu melhor pelo Corinthians, me dedicar ao máximo. Ninguém chega a lugar nenhum sozinho. Se consegui fazer um bom campeonato devo muito aos meus companheiros, aos preparadores de goleiros, meu treinador. Acho que o mais importante, independente de quem foi o melhor jogador, o melhor goleiro ou atacante, foi o Corinthians ser campeão.

O Corinthians mereceu ser campeão?
Acho que merecer, nós merecemos. Ninguém é campeão sem merecer. Talvez o Corinthians tenha sido mais sólido do que em outras partidas, de repente foi isso que ele (Fábio Carille em entrevista coletiva após o título) não se expressou bem, mas fomos merecedores. Em alguns jogos, a gente não foi tão bem. Não é porque veio bastante bola e eu defendi, mas contra o Santos foi um jogo que a gente foi bem abaixo, mas ganhou porque tem grupo e porque acreditou sempre. De repente faltou técnica, mas não faltou vontade, empenho, dedicação. É difícil, no futebol brasileiro você vai falar de competência, passar de fase, regularidade de jogos.

Na sua opinião, qual é o time que joga o melhor futebol no Brasil hoje?
O Cruzeiro é quem vem jogando melhor futebol e sendo efetivo. O Santos contra nós fez um grande jogo, agora contra o Vasco na Copa do Brasil também. Fez grandes jogos, mas acabou sendo eliminado já de duas competições. Acho que é um time que vai brigar no Brasileiro, é um dos times que têm grandes chances de brigar. Mas é difícil pegar uma equipe que seja competitiva o ano inteiro, não oscile, e no final das contas a única torcida que está comemorando em São Paulo é a do Corinthians, mesmo sendo irregular.

Vai na festa do Paulistão?
Vou na festa, é um momento legal, a gente foi campeão, é a primeira vez que entro na seleção do paulista, é um momento legal, lógico que o objetivo é ser campeão. Mas é um momento legal, vou com minha esposa na festa.

Quase no último minuto do jogo, você tentou dominar uma bola na coxa e errou. O que você tentou fazer naquele lance?
Nem eu sei o que quis fazer (no domínio). Eu tentei que a bola fosse… Sei lá, a bola varia tanto (risos). Era para ela ficar no meu controle, mas quando vi ela caiu, bateu no meu joelho, deu um desespero. Ainda bem que tava o Love e o pessoal ali, chutaram a bola para longe. É algo para aprender e não fazer mais.

Você acha que tem o mesmo nível que Alisson e Ederson, os outros dois goleiros da Seleção? E como está a expectativa para a convocação do Tite para a Copa América?
É difícil você falar dos outros ou fazer uma comparação. Tenho tido um bom começo de temporada, sido regular no meu clube, acabamos de ser campeões. Quando você é campeão, está em evidência, as chances aumentam de estar na seleção. Mas é com o Tite, ele que vai decidir quem vai. Mas se você me perguntar se eu gostaria de ir para a Copa América, é lógico que eu gostaria, seja Copa América ou amistosos. Gostaria de estar na competição, ainda mais que será no Brasil, mas tenho um respeito muito grande pelo pessoal que está na Seleção. Se eu for, vou ficar feliz, se não for, vou estar na torcida para o Brasil sair campeão.

Momento mais marcante
O jogo contra o Palmeiras foi difícil, teve o gol do Avelar. Por todas as críticas que sofreu, ele é um cara que eu respeito muito, pelo fato de apesar de todas as críticas nunca abaixou a cabeça, sempre foi um cara que trabalhou, se dedicou. Por ele ter feito o gol e também acho que depois daquele momento começaram a ver ele de outra maneira. O elogio e a crítica foram de outra forma. Acho que aquele foi um jogo bem com o estilo do Corinthians, uma equipe sólida e defensiva que quando pôde foi lá e fez o gol.

Quais as diferenças desse time para o do ano passado?
É difícil, no ano passado ficamos abaixo. Temos que ser inteligentes, não cometer os mesmos erros do ano passado. Temos um time mais experiente que o do ano passado. Temos de dois a três times, é diferente do ano passado, quando tínhamos muitos meninos. Neste ano, os meninos do ano passado têm mais experiência. É um time mais cascudo, mas temos que olhar para trás para não repetir erros.

Você foi um dos jogadores que criticou o gramado da Arena Corinthians no começo do ano. Percebeu alguma mudança recentemente?
Melhorou muito. Teve uma melhora bem legal. Ele está bem melhor mesmo.

Graeme Welch has been appointed as Derbyshire’s new elite performance director on a three-year contract. A former Derbyshire captain, Welch has earned a strong reputation as assistant coach at Warwickshire and was widely credited for his developmental role with the bowlers when helping the club to the 2012 County Championship title.But after missing out to Dougie Brown for the role of director of cricket at Edgbaston, 41-year-old Welch has decided to pursue opportunities elsewhere. He also left Edgbaston for Derby during his playing career, before taking up his first coaching role at Essex.Welch replaces Karl Krikken, who stepped down after being asked to reapply for his job in a management reshuffle triggered by Derbyshire’s relegation from Division One.”My experiences with Essex and Warwickshire have been a fantastic grounding, allowing me to learn my trade as a coach,” Welch said. “I’m thankful for those opportunities which have fuelled my ambition to work at the top of the coaching tree.”The opportunity to do that back at Derbyshire, where I had my best years as a player, is perfect for me. With 69 wickets at 19.82, he claimed 35 more wickets than anyone else at the club.After starting his career with Derbyshire in 1994, Richardson also had respectable spells with Warwickshire and Middlesex before joining Worcestershire in 2010 and enjoying the best period of his career. He claimed 254 first-class wicket in four seasons for the club at an average of 22.07 apiece and, in April 2012, was named one of Wisden’s Cricketers of the Year.
