Atacante do Brusque cai nas graças do torcedor e agradece: 'Feliz com o carinho'

MatériaMais Notícias

Contratado em 2019, o atacante Ronan renovou o vínculo com o Brusque no mês de dezembro, até o final de 2021. Com a camisa do Quadricolor, o atacante disputou a Copa Santa Catarina do ano passado, o estadual e a Copa do Brasil deste ano.

‘Nossa equipe criou bastante. Acho que faltou um pouco de capricho na finalização, mas conseguimos impor nosso jogo nos dois tempos, e isso foi fundamental’, declarou o atleta.

Sunderland’s Clarke fit for Middlesbrough

Sunderland have been gifted an injury boost before they play Middlesbrough in the Championship tonight.

The Lowdown: Northeast clash

It is a battle of two clubs from the northeast at the Riverside Stadium, from where Tony Mowbray’s team will be hoping to come away with all three points.

A win for the visitors would take them into the play-off places in the table, and even though it is still early days, the signs are promising in their first season back after winning promotion from League One.

The Latest: Clarke fit

As per Sunderland’s official website, Jack Clarke is now ‘expected to be fine’ for the match, despite a ‘precautionary withdrawal’ last time out against Rotherham United.

He suffered a ‘calf knock’ late on in Wednesday’s win over the Millers, but it looks as if the winger has recovered in time to play against Middlesbrough.

The Verdict: Boost for Sunderland

It is certainly a boost for Mowbray and Sunderland to see Clarke fit and ready to play after picking up a knock last time out.

The 21-year-old currently ranks as the Wearside club’s second-best performer in the Championship so far this season, with two goals, three assists and two man-of-the-match awards to his name (WhoScored).

Therefore, the Black Cats will surely feel as if they have a better chance of winning with Clarke in the team than without him.

Wolves: Jones says Kalajdzic has been dealt a crushing blow

Wolves summer signing Sasa Kalajdzic has been dealt a crushing blow for the 2022/2023 Premier League campaign, says reporter Dean Jones.

The Lowdown: Wolves suffer blow…

Bruno Lage, it’s safe to say, has been dealt a real blow over his new striker with news recently coming to light of a serious injury.

Kalajdzic made his debut in Wolves’ 1-0 win over Southampton on Saturday but was hauled off at half time after feeling pain in his knee, with scans then revealing that the Austrian suffered an ACL problem.

Anterior cruciate injuries traditionally take between six to nine months to heal depending on their severity, dealing a real blow to Kalajdzic, who could now miss the majority of this Premier League campaign.

The Latest: Jones reacts…

Speaking to GiveMeSport, journalist Jones has responded to this development and calls it ‘devastating’ for both the player and Wolves.

He also says Kalajdzic will be ‘absolutely crushed’ by this news.

“It’s absolutely devastating for the player and the club.

“He looks a really good fit for the Premier League and he will be absolutely crushed by this news.”

The Verdict: Troubling times…

Lage is now really short of depth up front, prompting the Molineux side to turn to the free agent market.

In a bid to strengthen their options, Wolves have been linked with Bosman swoops for the likes of Andy Carroll and Diego Costa, with supporters hoping they find a striker solution sooner rather than later.

Kalajdzic, given his size and ability, would have been a fine option for this campaign but it could now be a while before his return to action.

Spurs could sell Moura by signing Zaniolo

Fabio Paratici was a busy man throughout the summer transfer window as he brought in eight players to bolster Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur squad.

The likes of Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Ivan Perisic, and Clement Lenglet all came in, whilst Destiny Udogie was also signed before being loaned back to Udinese for the season.

However, they could have added more to their squad as they were touted as being keen on a deal for an attacking midfielder who can also play out wide. The club reportedly wanted to sign Italian international Nicolo Zaniolo and the door could now be open for them to revisit that interest in January.

It has been reported that Roma are unwilling to match the attacking midfielder’s wage demands. They will not offer anything higher than €3.5m-per-season (£3m-per-season) and that is said to be ‘significantly’ lower than what he wants in order to sign a new contract.

His current deal expires in the summer of 2024 and this means that the Italian club could be in a difficult position ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, as they would risk losing him for nothing if they do not cash in on him in one of the next two transfer windows.

By signing the Serie A gem in January, who was once described as “ingenious” by Cristiano Masitto, Tottenham could finally cash in on underperforming winger Lucas Moura.

The £80k-per-week Brazilian attacker has not produced enough in the final third in recent seasons to warrant a regular place in the side and Zaniolo could come in as his replacement.

Spurs reportedly blocked loan offers from other Premier League clubs in the summer but bringing a player in to take his spot in the squad could allow Conte to finally sanction an exit for the former PSG man.

The 30-year-old has scored five goals and produced 10 assists in his last 66 Premier League matches since the start of the 2020/21 campaign, whilst he managed one goal and two assists in five matches in Europe last season.

Zaniolo, meanwhile, has chipped in with eight goals and seven assists in his last 56 Serie A outings. The gem, who was dubbed a “frightening talent” by journalist Ben Jacobs, also caught the eye in Europe with five goals and three assists in 10 Europa Conference League outings in 2021/22.

These statistics suggest that the Italian, who is also seven years younger than the Spurs man, could offer a greater goal threat in the final third, whilst also having the potential to improve and grow with more experience, instead of being in the twilight of his career.

Both players are capable of playing out wide on the right or through the middle as a striker or as a number 10 and this means that Zaniolo can be a versatile option for Conte to use in a multitude of roles, taking up Moura’s place in the side.

This would then allow the manager to sanction an exit for the Brazil international without worrying about the depth of his squad, whilst bringing in a player who could be a backup to start with before breaking into the XI in the future if he can develop his skills.

West Ham enjoyed masterclass with Diangana

One of the most controversial transfer decisions that West Ham United have made in recent times was to sanction the departure of academy graduate Grady Diangana, with the highly-rated forward having joined West Bromwich Albion back in the summer of 2020.

The former England U21 international had impressed while on loan at the Baggies during the 2019/20 campaign, scoring eight goals and registering seven assists in 30 Championship games to help fire the Hawthorns outfit back into the top flight.

Such form had unsurprisingly piqued the interest of top clubs across Europe, with both Celtic and Ajax believed to have been just two of the clubs keeping tabs on the DR Congo-born starlet at the time.

Amid that rampant interest, the 5 foot 11 menace ultimately secured a return to West Brom on an £18m deal, with that move subsequently sparking outrage back at the London Stadium among supporters and players alike.

Captain Mark Noble – who has since retired – voiced his objection to the decision to allow the emerging prospect to depart, stating he was “angry” that such a talent was no longer on the Irons’ books.

Fast forward two years, however, and that deal has come to look like astute business for the often maligned GSB, with the West Ham owners having managed to recoup a relatively hefty fee for a player who has since underwhelmed in his current surroundings.

While a stunning strike early in the 2020/21 campaign for the playmaker had enhanced the frustration among Hammers supporters, that proved to be Diangana’s only goal involvement in that entire top-flight season, as the Midlands outfit were subsequently relegated.

The following campaign proved just as disappointing as the fleet-footed gem scored just twice and laid on only one assist in 41 league games in the second tier, with former West Brom boss Valerien Ismael having urged the £25k-per-week man to “raise the bar” with regards to his performances having failed to deliver.

Although there have been signs of encouragement for the “unbelievable talent” – as dubbed by teammate Jed Wallace – in the current campaign, he has still only scored once and registered three assists in ten league outings, doing little to leave the Hammers rueing their decision.

Such has been his decline of late, the one time £18m man is now worth just £5.4m – according to Transfermarkt – with the powers that be at West Ham having been proven right by his exit, particularly with the club having thrived in his absence, securing European qualification in each of the last two seasons.

In truth, it was a rare masterclass from GSB to let Diangana depart, bringing in a sizeable fee for a player who had cost them nothing having risen through the youth ranks.

Sunderland: Bailey Wright was the real hero

Sunderland secured their place in the League One play-off final against Wycombe as they beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 on aggregate.

The Black Cats won the first leg 1-0 as Ross Stewart pounced on a defensive mistake to convert one-on-one against the goalkeeper.

Wednesday came out firing at Hillsborough in the second leg and eventually found their equaliser in the tie as Lee Gregory put them ahead on the night. However, Alex Neil’s team dug in deep and sent the away fans into raptures as Patrick Roberts scored the goal to send them to Wembley in the 93rd minute.

Whilst the ex-Manchester City gem will take plaudits because of his tie-winning contribution at the end of the match, Sunderland’s real play-off hero was central defender Bailey Wright.

The Australian enforcer was sublime at the heart of the backline as he put in an almost faultless display full of character and quality.

Roker Report writer Philip West showered the former Bristol City tank with praise, tweeting: “Bailey Wright, what a warrior. Bloodstained shirt, blood trickling down his face, but he was an absolute rock tonight. That’s what playing for this club is about. Heart of a lion.”

These comments illustrate the commitment shown by Wright throughout the game as he put his body on the line for his team. He was throwing himself in the firing line to block shots and made sure that he was the first to react when balls were sent into the penalty box.

As you can see from these statistics, via SofaScore, the defender was superb out of possession. He dominated the opposition as he won the majority of his physical battles, which backs up West’s praise of his performance on Monday night.

On the ball, the Australian completed five of his 11 long pass attempts and had 45 touches throughout the match. Wright spent the bulk of his time defending his own goal rather than being in possession for the Black Cats and, as such, his statistics are not overly impressive on this front.

However, his defending was enough to get the job done for Sunderland, and the fans will surely have enjoyed his passion and commitment at the back. They will want to see their players leaving everything out on the pitch, and that is what the 29-year-old did against Sheffield Wednesday.

AND in other news, Neil can blow SAFC supporters away with £3.4k-p/w gem who was made “in a laboratory”…
