There have been many players of real quality linked in the past few months and in the build-up to June 14, which is when the transfer window officially opens. However, one man who is being mentioned more and more is RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.

The Slovenia international bagged 18 goals in all competitions last term, and the £55 million release clause in his Leipzig contract has turned heads across Europe. Arsenal are firmly in the conversation to sign Sesko, with reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano backing that he has "possibilities" to join Arteta's side.

“He has a big proposal from Leipzig on the table. It's a big contract proposal to extend this contract, to change the release clause, and to get a very big salary at the club, to be the new star of Leipzig, also for next season. So now the first step is he has to decide whether he wants to reject this proposal and leave and go to the Premier League or stay at the club.

“So, basically, this is the first step, and he's not decided yet. And then, in case he decides to go to the Premier League, he has possibilities with Arsenal.”

On a reported £57,000-per-week, it wouldn't take a hugely marquee salary offer to essentially double the 6 foot 5 striker's salary, and it is claimed that Sesko is "impressed" by the project at Arsenal as he bides his time to consider all approaches.

The 20-year-old has many years ahead of him at the very highest level, and his excellent form last season has motivated a growing clamour for his services, making this one to watch over the coming weeks.

The England international could feel that now is the right time for a fresh challenge, considering he recently turned 28.

According to Jeunes Footeux [via Sport Witness], Manchester United want to sign Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri in the summer window, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe eyeing up several replacements in the left back position, where both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia have been unable to stay fit.

The Wolves star is seen as rhe priority target in that area of the pitch ahead of next season, preferring him to a possibly cheaper option in Stade Brest rising star Bradley Locko, who is mentioned in the report as a target for several Premier League clubs, including United.

Ait-Nouri could be a perfect summer addition by United, with the Wolves ace ticking so many boxes when it comes to what Ratcliffe may be looking for. At just 22, the Algerian would be a long-term addition by the Red Devils, but he is already an established Premier League player, making 98 appearances in the competition.

His ability to play in a left wing-back role is makes him a versatile choice, while journalist Tim Spiers has said of him in the past: "Ait-Nouri was phenomenal. I know it’s only one game and he’s a kid, and he got a lot of space at times, but he played with such enthusiasm and really helped stretch that game out on the left."

Ait-Nouri is only actually earning £10,000 per week at Wolves currently, which seems low for a key player at a Premier League club, so he could jump at the chance to receive a bigger pay day elsewhere. With Shaw and Malacia both injury-prone, the left-back position has to be addressed this summer, and the four-cap Algeria international looks like a brilliant option.

Calum MacLeod, the Scotland batsman whose brilliant century condemned England’s World Cup winners to a rare ODI defeat in 2018, has signed for Sussex for the Vitality Blast.MacLeod, 31, has previously played for Warwickshire, Durham and most recently, Derbyshire. The 19-year-old wasn’t born when Bell made his debut in 1999 and having shared a partnership of 70 with the retiring stalwart in the first innings, the youngster struck his maiden Championship half-century in the second before being caught for 71 late in the day.In the morning session, Bell had strode to the wicket to a standing ovation from the gathered coaching staff and media, and was deserving of the guard of honour by Glamorgan on his final walk to the middle.Glamorgan had had an early breakthrough when Timm van der Gugten had Rob Yates caught impressively in the slips by Nick Selman and after switching ends, Michael Hogan struck to remove Will Rhodes, also caught by Selman, to end the batsman’s campaign with an average of 53.Bell and Hain then looked to move the game beyond Glamorgan’s reach, the scoring rate increasing rapidly as they put on 76 by lunch, adding a further 67 in the afternoon session.He and Hain had frustrated Glamorgan with a partnership of 143 as Warwickshire extended their second innings lead to 210 runs at tea. Offers are yet to be made, but a fee of around £25m could be enough to secure his services, which looks like an absolute steal of a price.

Why David would be an excellent signing for Man United

Since leaving Gent for Lille in 2020, David has been regarded as one of the finest centre-forwards in France.

Over the years, he’s proved to be a reliable goalscorer who’s deadly in front of goal, and that was once again the case last season.

In Ligue 1, the Canadian started 30 times, playing as a sole striker in a 4-2-3-1 system, which is where he’d feature at Old Trafford.

As you can see from the table, David is an extremely talented striker who knows how to put the ball in the back of the net, with an impressive record of 84 goals in 183 appearances for Lille.

When compared to the recent centre forward's performance at the Red Devils, it’s quite clear that he’s a far superior finisher, and his overperformance of xG in the league last season further highlights how clinical he truly is.

However, it’s not just at his club where David thrives, as his record of 26 goals and 16 assists in 48 appearances for Canada is incredible, and his numbers will be "mind-blowing" if he continues at this rate, as per football scout Jacek Kulig.

On top of being Lille’s all-time top scorer and being an “elite finisher,” in the words of journalist Ed Aarons, David’s overall game is also rather complete.

The 24-year-old completed 1.1 key passes, 2.7 progressive passes, has has taken 31.08 touches per 90 over the last year, proving he overs more than just goals. Rasmus Hojlund, for context, only managed 1.19 progressive passes.

Overall, it’s clear that David is the definition of a goalscorer, the type of player who will always step up in crucial moments when called upon, and for that reason alone, he could become United’s best striker since Van Persie. He certainly looks more prolific than the likes of Hojlund and Lukaku.

According to Sky Sports, Crystal Palace are one of two Premier League clubs interested in signing a new £35m forward.

Next to officially arrive looks set to be Daichi Kamada. The Japanese attacking midfielder will officially become a free agent at the beginning of July after leaving Lazio and has reportedly penned a two-year deal with Palace.

Glasner and Palace will lose Michael Olise, who is joining Bayern Munich in a deal worth more than £50m, and it is believed that Club Brugge forward Antonio Nusa could be the player to replace Olise, with the Norway international valued at £25m.

Meanwhile, another target is Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham, the youngster brother of Jude, with Fabrizio Romano recently saying that the Sunderland gem is a “main target”, whereas Nusa is also among the “priorities”.

Alongside both Bellingham and Nusa, though, it looks as if another attacking target is of interest to Palace.

Crystal Palace want Emile Smith-Rowe – Sky Sports

According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, speaking live on Wednesday evening, Crystal Palace are interested in signing Emile Smith-Rowe from Arsenal this summer.

“We understand that a number of Premier League clubs, including Fulham and Crystal Palace are interested in Arsenal forward Emile Smith-Rowe.

“He is very popular at the club, should be noted, Smith-Rowe. He is very popular at the club with those within the club, he’s very popular with the fans as well – the fans always get behind an academy product. But, he started just three times in the Premier League in the last two seasons, and now he’s in that position in his career where he thinks ‘I want regular first-team football’.

“It’s thought that if a suitable offer was to present itself, that Arsenal would seriously consider that offer. Formal approaches for Emile Smith-Rowe are expected to start coming in over the next few weeks.”

Reports elsewhere have stated that the Gunners could hope to bring in around £35m for Smith-Rowe, so the Eagles may need to make the 23-year-old Palace's most expensive signing of all time if they want to bring him to Selhurst Park.

In total, Smith-Rowe has made 115 senior appearances for the Gunners, scoring 18 times and registering 13 assists. He’s also spent time out on loan with RB Leipzig and Huddersfield Town after coming through Arsenal’s academy, but by the looks of things, a permanent exit could be on the cards.
